I can't believe I hadn't touched this space of mine for close to a year.

November 2010,I was just about3 months into

my internship.

oh how i missed those days.

i feel that humans are pretty contradictory beings.

when you're working, you feel like studying.

when you're studying, you feel like working.

a lot of events unfolded in the course of past 9 months.

the most significant event being my entry to SMU.

my journey in getting a place in uni,was an arduous one

and the only earthly being who rahrah-ed me through

was kar voon.

from the crafting of appeals to the preparation of interviews.

now i know who else to go to, IF i have to prepare for interviews.

ITS NONE OTHER THAN VIVIEN.

she spotted on my NUS interview qns!!!! (HAHA!)

& deep down in my heart, i knew that the one who gave me

THE PLACE in smu, was God.

don't ask me why.

if not for Him, I would be nothing, really.

Sch started on 15 Aug.

It's been a hectic 7 weeks.

no joke. Probably, hectic is an understatement.

Uni is a no joke place.

putting hard work is imperative.

the whole intensive mugging culture just made me

very sian to the max.

after all, you can't blame me.

I had spent the past 14 years of my life in education

& I am no super woman to be able to sustain the

stamina.

well, hopefully it will sustain me for 4 more

years and I believe God will bring me through,

once again, like how He did for my poly studies.

The past one week was uber draining.

mid terms&presentations&deadlines&assignments.

I.NEED.A.BREATHER.

Thank God for the strength & the divine wisdom.

hmms, next week is my recess week.

Thank God for it. cause i will have extra time to concentrate

I woke up the next day feeling so encouraged yet so desperate to seek God. I sat down with my bible and my diary and edwj and I was asking God to show me what He wanted to show me as I really wanted to know.
I was showed a departmental store in a shopping centre. The sales promoter was trying to sell her product to the customers. In this job, she will meet 3 different kinds of people. The first kind of people just shove her aside when she tries to promote the product to them. The second kind of people stop to listen, but they ask for many things: free samples, demonstrations etc. The Last kind of people just buy according to what you tell them.
In our christian life, God is the departmental store and we are His promoters to promote His love, to tell people about His love. We meet people who totally reject us when we tried to share God’s love to them. We meet people who stop to listen to us, but they want testimonies and then consider if they want to believe in God. The last kind of people simply just buy what we say and accept Christ.
Even though we might face persecutions in future, the people will soon come to realise that the product is good and everasting, and that is God’s everlasting love:)

I love reading fellow sisters' blogs because

sometimes it saves me the trouble of translating

my thoughts to words.

As christmas approaches, I'm excited.

This week is my second week of intern
at Grant Thornton.
Currently helping out in the accounts dept
since audit season has yet started.

I just had lunch 1 hour again
and my eyelids are droopingggggg.
its raining heavily outside.
this is such a nice weather to sleep in.

tmr is my D-day.
trying not to have any expectations though.

I've finished keying in the vendors for FKT.
now im doing KCK section.
after that, may have a chance to do entries.
like those A/r,A/P and G/L
sorry for the technical terms/lingo.
cant wait to do that.

inside this dept, i can only listen to typing sounds
and the sometimes,the voices of certain people
talking on the phone.
wells, thats how acctg dept shld be.

then at the audit dept, it looks like a
paper recycling plant.
working papers everywhere.
becos of the rows and rows of long
tables,it kinda looked like a factory production.
just that,it's a tad bit noiser than accts
dept cos each team member has to
communicate one another.

I was at the audit dept last week and
I eavesdropped on their conversation.
HA it was deja vu.
whatever that i previously learnt from the lect
came alive!
its v interesting though i know its rude to
listen to their conversation.

I didnt know choosing a new phone could be

Ha. that's the consequence of having the best
of both worlds.
I want to pay below $100 for an android phone.

after contemplating on HTC legend,samsung wave,
galaxy 3,
I finally got a HTC WILDFIREEEE :O

I called singtel and found out that I just need to
pay $98 if i were to re-contract.
then i thick skinned further to ask for vouchers
and apparently there's this $50 e-voucher in my
account.
technically,i paid $48 for a wildfire.
THE BEST THING WAS.................................
i also asked singtel whether there are any
stock for wildfire in red
but it was sold out islandwide.

gave me a toothless smile.
A thought came to my mind:
if only we continue to have that child-like
contentment and innocence while growing up.

yeah.
my exam papers for last sem were fri,sat,mon
then friday(yes!i waited a week for the freaking IFA
paper to be over)
so monday was actually tax exam.
apparently,
i had more time to study for my FIT paper,
which was my 1st paper.
then for my tax paper on monday right.
the previous day,which was sunday,i was in church.
by the time i got home and got into proper
study, it was like...eh, around 3pm?
Ironically, i scored A for tax and B+ for FIT instead.
Irony yes?

Today's QT passage is very relevant
to most of us and so i decided to share it

The 4 most common ways we manage our emotions:
1)repress them-push them deep into the unconscious
and forget all about them (highly recommended)
2) suppress them-push them into subconscious but
not entirely forgotten and temporarily submerged
3)Express them- we can laugh,cry and stamp our feet,
GET ANGRY
4) Confess them- admit to our feelings but control the
expression of them so tat it is in accord with biblical
principles.

it is ALWAYS right to FEEL an emotion but it not
ALWAYS right to express it.
We can admit to feeling angry, but by an act of self
control(a fruit of the spirit), we must ensure that our
anger is not dumped on to someone in a way that hurts them.

But what if they hurt us?
"It is mine to avenge, I will repay", says the Lord
I ask, 'Lord can i help You a little bit with the avenging?"
He answers, "No, that part is Mine, I can do it better than you,
and My method will be CONSTRUCTIVE,not DESTRUCTIVE"

i must keep this in mind:
Always be willing to feel my emotions, but i will need to be
careful how i express them.

At the end of the day, I always tell myself it is the process that matters more not the outcome. As long as you have done your best, that is good enough. There are a lot of factors which are out of our control. Enjoy the process of learning and don't stress yourself out over the grades - at the end of the day, grades are just alphabets. The knowledge which you have acquired is undefined by the grades you have received. That knowledge as well as your attitude will determine how far you will go at work next time.
